A lot has happened since my last post. I've had a pretty crummy new year so far. My dad turned 80 December 30th and promptly caught the nasty flu that was sweeping around the country. It hit him hard. I was at his house every day for a while. I've never seen him so sick. To be honest, he hasn't been feeling well for a while and last week we received the news that he has stage 3 lung cancer. He starts radiation tomorrow and chemo next week. There's a big push now for him to downsize, so I will be posting many of my parents treasures over the next few months. Antique and vintage dolls, jewelry, glassware, watches, art, furniture, clothing... the list is endless. We've had the pleasure of enjoying them for years, but now it's time for them to find a new home. I will be putting on the first batch this weekend.

All I wanted for Christmas were some wings....
I am a Pinterest junkie! I can spend hours on end looking at beautiful rooms, incredible furniture and chandeliers, and DIY projects, but I have the most pins under Christmas followed closely by Angels. The two go hand in hand for me. So does Christmas and decorating.
My mom, dad, and I share December as our birthday month. Mom loved decorating for Christmas and she did it in a big way! In her later years, my girls and I would put everything up for her because she couldn't do it anymore. Her big tree took four of us the better part of a day to decorate. She had thousands of ornaments and the tree was literally covered. We would laugh because we would have so many ornaments left to hang and the tree was already full. Still, every year we managed to squeeze in every last one, plus the new ornaments she bought marked down after Christmas the previous year.
She was amazing and instilled a need in me to decorate every room of my house and to add new things every year, and thus my Pinterest addiction.....
This year as I feverishly pinned everything white, silver, gold, vintage and clever. I came across a dining room with angel wings on the chairs and I was instantly in love! I also wanted to make my dress form an angel. I didn't have the money before Christmas to get any wings and I was sad. I did however get some money for Christmas and lucked into someone selling a good number of wings and halos.
Here's some of the fun I had with them yesterday.
I absolutely LOVE my kitchen with the wings on the chairs!
My dress form, Penny, finally has some wings! By next year I hope to have more dress form angels!
I love the angel wing tree topper. I threw this on just to see what it would look like. Next year it will be so much better!
Penny will wear her wings year round and I am looking forward to making a wonderfully little girlie angel vanity chair.
I am willing to sell some of the extra wings I have. On Ebay they sell for $16 to $20 for the 14". I am asking $10.00. I also have some wings in 18" for $12.00 and 24" for $15.00. The halos are $3.00 each. They are wonderful for decorating and fantastic for baby photo shoots! You can contact me at bseaingu2@aol.com if you are interested in purchasing some wings!
